Apply to attend 3rd meeting of Interagency and Expert Group on SDG Indicators

The third meeting of the Inter-agency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goal Indicators (IAEG-SDGs), will be held from 30 March to 1 April 2016 in Mexico City, Mexico. The meeting will be hosted jointly by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico. At the request of the UN DESA Statistics Division, UN-NGLS is facilitating an application process to identify representatives from civil society organizations, academia and the private sector to attend this meeting. Representatives can either apply to be members of the Stakeholder Selection Committee or to attend the meeting.

The objectives of the meeting are:

  • Establishment of a tier system for indicators
  • Establishment of procedures for the methodological review of indicators, including approval mechanisms of needed revisions
  • Development of global reporting mechanisms, including identifying entities responsible for compiling data for global reporting on individual indicators and discussing data flow from the national to the global level
  • Discussion of the work plan and next steps

The UN Non-Governmental Liaison Service (UN-NGLS) is an inter-agency programme of the United Nations mandated to develop constructive relations between the UN and civil society organizations.
